Karma Cosmic Foundation could successfully conduct a Medical Camp at Tataguni village on the 4th of January 2009. More than 300 patients came from surrounding villages like Chowdeshwari nagara, Ramesh Nagara, Gandhi Nagara Somanahalli, and Tataguni. Doctors from respective specializations attended to the patients from 9.30am till 1pm. Not only were the patients given free medicines for a month, we ensured that critical cases were given referral cards to further avail for free surgery at MS Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore. KCF volunteers (in uniforms)from Tataguni village took active participation during the entire camp. The Medical Camp has provided KCF a base in all the nearby villages on which the Karma cosmic Foundation is committed to build on in the future.

Karma Cosmic Foundation has initiated one more Women Empowerment Program. The attachment has some pics of the WEP (women empowerment program). We have 5 trained tailors already and 10 members taking training currently. Women here are getting trained in making hand bags of various patterns. The fabric that is being used is 100% cotton. This will enable us to eliminate plastic gradually from our day-to-day life. You will be amazed to see the way they are maintaining the Attendance register, Inventory book, Registration forms, Income Expenditure book, and Petty cash book!!

We have heard about the traditional rangoli system in every south Indian Hindu houses, village women of Tataguni sets a perfect example of an extended house by painting on the speed breakers to avoid accidents on the road. The Tataguni main road at Tataguni village in the south of Bangalore, on the kanakapura road, has reported several accidents due to the speed breakers not having the white identification paint on them. Especially in the nights the two wheelers fly about 2 ft above the ground hitting the speed breakers unknowingly. Women members of Karma Cosmic Foundation, takes responsibility to paint the speed breakers to avoid accidents on the road on the 22nd of January, 2009. We painted six speed breakers. Soon as we accomplished two we had other women approaching from the local residence offering help. The entire event was not just about painting speed breakers to avoid further accidents, it was more of bringing people together for a common objective. Though tired, yet every women had a special smile on their face, a smile of joy, contentment and belongingness.

Karma Cosmic Foundation organized special attention classes for children every Sunday at Tataguni village. In the two hour program, children are told stories from the ancient scriptures, they are taught to sing aloud the hymens, of great saints of Karnataka like Akka Mahadevi, Shishunal Sheriff, Basweshwar Anna, and many others. They are encouraged to share their own stories and through several games taught the importance of selfless service towards the society and humanity. Children here are also introduced to meditation so that the inner dynamism explores out as a talent. Over the last two weeks we have been seeing a steep increase in the number of children for one Sunday to the next. Good children will make a better tomorrow. Let’s make it easy for them…
