We are all aware of certain facts related to consistent contamination of air due to pollution caused by indiscriminate felling of trees and also due to various other outcomes of ‘convenient living’. Climatic changes are affecting every individual life impartially and therefore the loss to the human race and society is becoming irrecoverable and irreversible.
Today ‘Progress and Development’ is the other meaning of ‘assaulting Nature’ and pollution is the end result of our so called prosperity. We are all standing at an edge where each one of us needs to make a conscious choice to be a part of the solution. Mass awareness has to be brought about so as to ensure voluntary action among people. Who else other than children can demand from us ‘adults’ to leave a better world for them to live-in.‘Nature Walk’ is a movement initiated by Karma Cosmic Foundation where under- privileged rural hildren (12– 16 years) from several government schools around Kanakapura road participated to take responsibility to convey ‘the message’ to each and every adult citizen of the society to become aware and take positive step towards sorting this common environmental issue.
On 30th of August 2008, at 11am more than 1000 children walked from Laxmipura village to Tataguni village. Children went door to door with placards and pread awareness among the inhabitants of these villages to become aware and take initiative towards a greener, cleaner village. City limits are expanding at high pace. Soon the encroachment can engulf our virgin villages. Before it’s too late lets make our people aware of their responsibilities towards the environment and humanity.
Our special thanks to Times Of India, Prajavani, and The Indian Express for their cooperation and coverage. Our heartfelt thanks to Britannia Ltd for sponsoring biscuits for the children. Our overwhelming regards to the school teachers for encouraging the students to participate in the movement.
